Punch Potpourri

Happy "almost the last day of January!!" I can't believe how fast this month went...usually is dreary forever but I think we got off lucky this year. I hope all of you had a good month and are looking foward to that spring feeling. Making the cards in the last few days has really put spring colors in my mind. Those of you that have Valentines to make...tic toc!!???

 I have a few to share...and we'll see who has been paying attention!!?? Today is one I call "Cherish" and I hope you like it.

 

Any Deja Vu going on out there???? 

  I love these colors together and the designer series paper is so versatile. How appropriate.....Love Letters. The card it self is Real Red. I used the top note die three times and a "Priceless" flouris in the background on the Very Vanilla. Punch Potpourri Hostess Stamp set and Fundamental Phrases for the sentiment.

I love punches....you can do so much with them!  Melon Mambo paper is so rich looking and goes well with the Pink Pirouette. Just a little pearl on the dot of the" i "and we are done. Don't forget the beautiful taffeta ribbon..easy tie knot.

Word Play in Dimension

Good Day to everyone!!!

It has been a busy couple of weeks. This working for a living really gets in the way of my "play time"!!!!! Since we last connected I have had two Stamp Clubs and what fun we had. On my Sunday group we had a new member join us and I am so happy she enjoyed herself! Marianne is now bringing a friend along and isn't that what this is about.....sharing what we love. Thanks Marianne...see you soon.

Onto the new card.......with Valentines fast approaching I wanted to put something together to share. I hope the picture shows the "dimension" well. It is definately all over the place.

I stamped Glossy White paper with the En Francais background stamp using StazOn black. Cut out random squares... give it some time to dry and you won't have any frustration of the "smear!"  Then stamp the sentiment also on Glossy White with StazOn black. Sponge all the edges with rose red ink  and set aside.  The background designer paper is Lap of Luxury and you'll notice I punched the edges to soften things with the Corner punch from page 201 of the catalogue. A little Pretty in Pink satin ribbon and of course one of the fabulous new Fabric Designer Brads from the Occasion Mini. I think they are beautiful and what a lot of different colors to start you creating around!!!

 Then the creation begins...just place the pieces on the designer paper and when you are happy....dimensionals galore!!! Some are higher that others, hard to see in the picture but looks really cool. And inside.......

 

What is a Valentines card without a heart...right. I love punches! I can remember the days before Stampin' Up! spoiled us, when you had to CUT out all these shapes. Check them out...pages 200-203. Wow! and now the back of the card...I know you all are signing your art work. It's not just a card but a very special present!!!!

Oops...meant that to be smaller...oh well now you can see the use the heart punch up close and personal!!! You too can have your very own stamp....check out pages 144 and145 of the catty for details.

Gratitude

 

Welcome to my blog.....I am enjoying the connection to all you creative, stamping people.Thanks for visiting.

 When I joined Stampin" Up! as a demonstrator one of the stamp sets that came with my starter kit was..."Define Your Life ".  It seemed to sit in the shelf for awhile but in the last little while I have taken another look at it and realized what it can offer. I made some bookmarks for the people I work with and in searching for a sentiment for a Thank You  card I found..."Gratitude!"

 

As we all need to express our thanks to someone at some time...."Gratitude " really says it all. Check out all the sentiments in Define Your Life ( page 161 of the catalogue ) and it will open up a tons of ideas for cards of any type.

Good Day All  !!!!

Hope you have made it through the weather in your area.....  it seems to be very strange all over the place.  My share today is a set of cards I made using DSP Elegant Soiree and the Stamp Set ..Every Moment. I also wanted to show you what kind of mess I can make in the process!!!

This would be great for a workshop and new comers or those with experience would enjoy making them.I think the subtle tones of the paper with Soft Suede ink create a calm feeling and I hope you like them.

What do you think about the background color....thought I would try to blend with the expresso and suede....

Paradise and Passion

 

Happy Wednesday everyone!!! Guess what happened last night in Shawnigan Lake.......

 And I took this shot very early this morning.....

 
 So because of all this white "stuff"I have a snow day to not just shovel the driveway but share some things with you.  I have a card I finished recently and I got the inspiration from Kristin Moore and one of her creations on Split Coast Stampers. Thanks Kristin!!! Here  is what I came up with....

 
 I used river rock for the card itself, expresso, crumb cake and always avocado for the displays.  You'll see the fabulous seam binding on the top and a "build a brad "too!!! The Paradise stamp set for the great leaves, and Inspired by Nature for the sentiment and background. Just stamp the leaf again...clear emboss over pear pizzazz...cut it out..dimensionals..( I know some of you are very resistant to cutting !!) but the result works. It's all in the scissors.....

Countryside

Good Day to all!!!

Thanks for all the wonderful comments in the last few days. Who knew???? This blog land is really amazing and if you are wondering if it is right for you don't hesitate. I had lots of help and support to get going and if you want to go ahead into the "New Age" of connection , Heather at www.blogsbyheather.com set everything up for me and of course my good friend Sandi has been there to assist!

Now on to my next card.....keeping with the theme of a card for anyone, I used the Countryside stamp set and some of Stampin' Up's! fabulous Designer Series Paper and "presto" ( as if !!???) here it is........

 

 I love the new seam binding ribbon....I have ordered ALL the colors!  For the background on the crumb cake and very vanilla I used one of the stamps from the French Foliage stamp set. It is all so useful..You can change the sentiment to almost anything for anyone....Teeny Tiny Wishes.

Check in soon for an new grouping of cards....I am working on something using the Elegant Soiree Designer Series Paper. It is so pretty and I love the way you can showcase it in so many ways.

I was hoping to create a card that you could give to anyone and tried it in a different color...surprise right!!!!

 

 

I can't decide which one I like better, the More Mustard or the Old Olive but I love this stamp set!!!

I am still playing with the picture taking...the embossing looks much better. Great technique, thanks Sandi!

"Define Your Life" Bookmarks

 

 

Happy New Year to all!!!

I hope you had a fabulous holiday season and the batterys are recharged for 2011.  I had a house full of family and friends and want to say thanks to everyone for making my holidays a great success.  I made these bookmarks for my collegues at work and what fun! Each one is a little different and has it's own "DEFINE YOUR LIFE " stamp on them. It was fun deciding which one to give to each person and I think I was able to personalize them. 

  
 The stamp set French Foliage has become one of my favorites...so versatile and yet elegant looking. Don't forget it "leaves " us tonight at midnight so go to my website and shop away!!!
