Sweet Sorbet

Happy weekend to all.

And the countdown to the end of Sale-a-Bration is on. So today my share is using up all those bits and pieces I know we all have of the fabulous Sweet Sorbet DSP. I will be sorry to see it go....very pretty and so versatile. So if you want to add some to your "paper jungle" , you only have till March 31st. You can shop here at my online store 24-7! 

 

Now I am going for that retro feel and all of these cards have the wonderful scalloped colored paper. 

One direction then another..... and then another......

 

So tell me , what do you think? With all the wonderful colors on the DSP you can pick from so many wonderful  coordinating hues for the card bases. 

I used the Really Good Greetings stamp set for all my sentiments. I really love it and even better I got it for free as one of my choices after I collected all the "Best of" stamp sets. That promotion is almost finished as well so don't delay....March 31st.  

I hope you now have some ideas to put to good use for all those pieces of DSP. I hesitate to call them scrap because I so love all the beautiful papers and the designs. I seem to hold onto even the tiniest bit, and who knows one day I put it to good use. Now have fun and thanks for stopping in.

My Card in A Box

Ok...I know it's out there but what fun.... Here is my addition to the Card in a Box.

The possibilities are so amazing...just go with what feels fun to you. 

Backyard Basics and DSP are the backbones for the design and then it can actually fit in an envelope that we can make!!! How does it get much better than that. Go have fun.

More Envelope Goodies !

Happy day to you all.... so have you been creating and sharing with friends. I sure hope so. 

I have the rest of the cute little creations from the Envelope Punch Board to show you today. I just know you will be able to use these ideas for many different occasions. And with the Envelope Punch Board , they can become as big or as small as you can imagine. 

This of course is the gift card holder with a little "belly band". When using the DSP be cautious not to push too hard  with the scoring tool as it will go right through. You will still be able to see your score lines and fold quite well. Just a heads up as I did it the first time . On the Envelope Punch board it shows you at the very beginning the 2x3-1/2 (gift card)  size using paper size of 5 x 5 . So easy. 

You will probably notice the flap is not glued down. I left that for you to see. That is where you can place the snail or sticky tape. But also the band holds things together. 

This tiny box is only 2 -1/2" x 3 -1/4". The smallest things are the best don't you agree !

Here it looks from the side.....can you see what I should have done. Yes I know....the tab is sticking up, it would have been easy to round off with the Envelope Punch Board but I forgot. Or it can be cut off level with the rest of the box. 

And here is the set...again a shout out to Glenda for her great ideas. I sure hope you like the spring feel of these and are now ready to create your own. We are no longer captive to the specific sized envelopes out there and for the special gift that opens up lots of possibilities. Have fun!!!

It's all in the Envelope!!

Good day my friends.I hope you are starting to see the signs of spring in your neighborhood.

Today I have some goodies that I saw at my friend Glenda's. She is also in my downline so I am very priviledged to have the occasion to spend time and stamp with her. She has fabulous ideas and always comes up with fun ideas for her clubs.

Here is my take on Glenda's creations. First we have a 6 x 5-7/8 card that fits great in an envelope you can make with the wonderful Envelope Punch Board. ( #133774).

And here is the envelope and I uses a "belly band" technique to close it up. 

In keeping with the Dot images on the DSP Watercolor Wonder from the Occasions catty , I put the top fold of the envelope through the Big Shot using the Decorative Dots Embossing Folder. This folder is available for free from the Sale-A-Bration catalogue when you purchase $60.00 of product...but only till the end of March folks. So don't delay to long. I so love the randomness of the pattern.

Now this little set comes with the card and envelope, a gift card envelope and a cute little box to place that fabulous Pandora charm or something as beautiful. Check in in the next few days and I will share the rest of the pictures.

More Spring Flowers

Hello and welcome back. 

Here are the rest of the cards using the Petite Petals and Flower Shop Stamp Sets. I am very happy I have the punch for the bigger flowers (Pansy #130698) and look forward to the Petite Petal one arriving here, but for now more fussy cutting. It really makes me appreciate all those tools we take for granted. Punches, framelits, thinlets etc!!! 

I love the subtle tones of the polka dotted paper from the Watercolor Wonder DSP. The Strawberry Slush paper and ink are so rich and lush.

And here is the final shot of them all. I am sure you could come with your own color pallettes and design a few cards to share with friends and family. Have fun and thanks for stopping by.

Spring Flowers

Hello my friends. How are things with all of you?  I am thinking of spring so the card that was on Dawn Griffiths site was the inspiration for these next shares. 

 Now I know there was that wonderful bundle ( 134821)  from Stampin' Up! for the Petite Petals and the punch, but as there was such run on it the punch is on back order. Sooooooo...fussy cutting on all the little flowers , I know crazy. But just for all of you.!!

And the card that started it all, very close to Dawn's.

I used the Sweet Sorbet DSP from the Sale-A-Bration catalogue to coordinate with the Crisp Cantalope ink color. Then I threw in a little Pistachio Pudding with the ribbon for a little contrast. Check back soon and I will share more with a change in color and DSP. They could make a great class for any hostess and also a fabulous gift set for that special friend.

Getting Manly ?

Good day to all. Weather update....RAIN !!! Oh well the earth really needs it or that is my story. 

Today I am sharing a couple of masculine cards and I hope you like them . I used the Timeless Talk stamp set and it really helps with creating. Lots of memories there also.

The burlap really gives it that vnitage look I think. I picked it up from the Occasions Catalogue page 37.  (#132140). The background is the En Francais from the big book. I sure hope this set stamp is carried over to the new catalogue. I really use it alot. 

The inspiration from this card came from a looong ! time ago. I did a card at the regional meeting in Vancouver quite a few years ago and as I was looking over some older creations I found it. Just goes to show that you should never throw away those fabulous cards you made many moons ago. I know...only so much space but at least take a picture and have a file on your computer for all your beautiful creations.

More Dahlias

Hi.

Couldn't resist. If you didn't see my last post that will mean nothing to you..
so check it out. 

I have more beautiful painted dahlias to share. It was so much fun putting the colour on the stamped image. But remember use Stazon Black and you won't have any blurred lines.

Can you guess the colours I used for this Dahlia ? Well...Crisp Cantalope, Calypso Coral, and.....Pistachio Pudding. Wowsers right. !!!!

I am very drawn to peach tones and I think this one turned out pretty good. Now how about you? Then next card I put in a brighter colour for a bit of a pop. So bring on the Strawberry Slush. 

And together you can see the pop of the Strawberry Slush. 

 

Now I have one more to share.....I said I was having fun !!!! Love this Stamp Set.

Now this one really feels like Easter is around the corner. I hope you have enjoyed my Regarding Dahlias and that you will try your hand at painting as well. Have a wonderful week and I'll be back soon.

Regarding Dahlias

Hello my friends. I hope all is well in your neck of the woods.

As I begin this post I see the white stuff is starting again. Sure hope it doesn't get too crazy.....this is March 1st. But as they say..in like a lion out like a lamb. I wonder who ever came up with that old adage???

So it is fitting that I have been playing with the Regarding Dahlias stamp set. Thoughts and colors of spring to stave off the winter blues. 

Now I know this looks a little odd but I tried a technique to layer the painted image in pieces over a stamped one. Kinda resembles a broken window don't you think??? It is really quite fun...you can achieve lots of different looks depending on the background.

Here is a closer view...

The next one is a little easier on the eyes, but I still played with colour. I used the same colours for painting, ....Island Indigo, Bermuda Bay and Daffodil Delight.

And of course I had to do a little something on the inside.
