Hello and welcome to March!!!
This month is filled with so many birthdays and celebrations . I love putting together the birthday cards and getting ready for Easter . Today's card is just for that and I really went out of the box in regards to "Easter" colours. I hope you like my offering.
At our Club this month we played with the mirror technique and I had a couple of pieces left over. A big shout out to the person on Pinterest that shared this with the Lovely as A Tree Stamp Set.....
We had alot of fun and I will share those cards at a later post, but today was left overs day. Here is the sketch we had as our inspiration......
Here is a glimpse of the card I created from the Trees and reflection piece.
The art piece was cut out using the Deco Labels Framlits Die. Number one for the background in Island Indigo and Number two for the scene and the Hello Honey underneath. ( I cut this in half and pulled it to the outside of the Art piece.)
The card base is in Whisper White and is a 5" square. So all you do is cut a piece 10 x 5 and score at 5". The first mat is in Hello Honey and is a 4-7/8" square as well. The washi tape is place along the bottom edge and then I cut a 4-1/2" x 4-1/2 " piece of Island Indigo with the first framelit, then a piece of Hello Honey 3-1/2" x 3-1/2" with the second Deco label framelit.
The art piece started on Whisper White that was 4 x 4. The top grove of trees was stamped in Early Expresso and then I stamped a second grove on a window sheet. That was lined up underneath the stamped image and carefully brayed it on to the paper. I just love the result. I cut this out with the second Deco Label as well.
Then I "daubed" the water and the sky. You don't want to make it to vibrant...easy does it.
In the center I added some Soft Suede with a sponge to show the river bank. It's hard to see but I used the clear Wink of Stella on the Art piece . Just a little bling for Easter.
You can see the dimensions in this picture and a peek inside. Again with the leftovers.......a small art piece to go with the sentiment.
Ok so ...not the average subtle Easter card but I hope you like the difference. Now off you go......check out the rest of the talent below.
and I will post all the links should you need them . Have fun!!!
