Year of Cheer for Happy Inkin' Thursday Blog Hop

Wow has it been a busy month, and here we are at the end.

Today is a sketch for us to play with. I decided to open up the wonderful Year of Cheer DSP. So pretty and lots of ideas in there. Here is the sketch.

And a little peek at my card...

I love the copper accents in this card. And the gold Foil Snowflakes go with everything!!!

The sentiment is from the Christmas Pines Stamp Set and the one inside is from Thoughtful Banners. I also used the beautiful Winter Wonder Textured Impressions Embossing Folder to pop up the inside words.....

Laser Technique for Happy Inkin' Thursday Blog Hop

Happy Thursday my friends.

We have a colour challenge to share today and these are certainly fall like. I am really appreciating the cooler weather and we have even had a little rain. So these colours are really starting to show up on my island.

So here we go..

I have spent some time on You Tube the last wee bit.....and I saw a Video by Jennifer McGuire. Shout out to you for the Faux Laser Card. I also shared this with my monthly club last night. Will post those pictures later. This is my take on the technique, thanks again.

The card base is Basic Black , then a piece of Pumpkin Pie which I cut out the Circle. Then I cut out the leaves using the FABULOUS Seasonal Layers Thinlits. I am in love with these dies. They were attached to the back of the circle , just random.

Then I placed dimensionals around the circle and then around the edges of the Pumpkin Pie piece. Jennifer used a foam piece cut out. Great idea but do you think I could find any???!!! So I tried a couple of things , the foam adhesive strips were a bit too much so went with the dimensionals. Nice to have the two sizes now.

These colours are so dramatic, so not much was needed to finish up the card. The branch and the banner went well together and then onto the sentiment. I do love fall and think it is just that, amazing.

Here is a closer picture of the leaves, I did wonder about placing more but thought the black from behind helped with the technique. Now off to the rest of the hop...have fun.

Winter Wonder for Happy Inkin' Thursday Blog Hop

Happy Thursday to all.

Crazy that it almost the middle of September but I know you all are getting ready for all the festivities fast approaching.

Today I have a Christmas card using the sketch that was provided. Went together quite fast and I think that is a major when we are adding up the cards we make for the holidays.

So here's the sketch...

I even used that blue tone, not sure if that was put in my head or what , but here it is.

The card base is Whisper White and the mat is Soft Sky. Then came a little Night of Navy and the fabulous Silver Foil and a touch of the Silver Glimmer.

I ran the Blue through the Winter Wonder Textures Impressions Embossing Folder...( say that three times!!?? ) . Then the top and bottom met the long piece in the Swirly Snowflakes Thinlits Dies.

I love the little swirls that come with these dies, I know I have used them before. The sentiments were put on one of the Bunch of Banners Framelits and one of the Stitched Shapes Framelits.

At this point I think I have way to many things on my work space, and I said this card came together easily!!! It is true, the only thing that took some time was the heat embossing of the sentiments. ( Did them 3 times ! ) Next card will have a banner in white with the silver embossing.

And because I love those swirls I added one inside with a couple of stars

Colorful Seasons for Happy Inkin' Thursday Blog Hop

Happy Thursday to all.... September is here.

Today I am thinking of fall that is right around the corner, although our weather has been very WARM...I hope everyone is finding some way to cool down this week.

We have colours to play with and they are definately in the autumn palette. Here they are.

I thought of leaves changing colour when I saw the Crushed Curry, so out came the Stamp Set Colorful Seasons and the Thinlits Seasonal Layers. I also pulled out a piece of the DSP paper stack Wood Textures and layered it onto a piece of Crushed Curry and Garden Green.

I am pretty sure that I like these colours together. And the background of the DSP really pulled it in. What do you think?

The idea of sitting on the chair with a cozy blanket and a cup of hot cocoa really appeals to me , even with leaves blowing around. The sentiment here is from the Eastern Beauty stamp set and the one inside is from the Colorful Season set. Here is what went on inside.....

And up close and "personal".......

This sentiment is almost my "mantra" ! I remind myself quite often to do just that and it really centers your thoughts and sometimes your actions.
