Ribbon of Courage for Happy Inkin Thursday Blog Hop

 

 

Happy Thursday to all and it the last hop for October. 

 

As October is Breast Cancer Awareness month I wanted to share a card that I made with the Ribbons of Courage set that was inspired by Patty Bennett.

( Actually I made this card early!!! mixed up my days. ) 

 I paddle on a Dragon Boat team that has many survivors of this disease and many other types of cancer. This cause is very close to my heart and am amazed each day of the courage of these ladies I call friends .

Here is the sketch for today....

 

 

  

And my card for today's hop..... 

 

 

 I stamped off the ribbon image onto the piece of Flirty Flamingo. Then layered the ribbons and the sentiment that says it all! 

 

 

 Pink Pirouette and Melon Mambo added the remaining "pink" colours. Then a few of the Glitter Enamel Dots for some bling.  

 

 

 More ribbons and a few more Dots.....

Pretty Pines for Happy Inkin' Thursday Blog Hop

 

 Hello to Thursday ! 

 

Today is a colour challenge and I went for it.  I hope you like what I created for you today. Here are the colours.

  

 

I decided to make a few little cards to place in the wonderful new pizza boxes from the Holiday Catalogue.

Here is what happened once I got going.

 

 The cards are 3 x 3 and then I also made the envelopes to place them in. The Pretty Pines Thinlits Dies got a major work out.

I paired them with the Christmas Pines Stamp Set. These were fun to make and so maybe we are going to do some for class this month. 

 

 I made two envelopes in the Lemon Lime Twist and one in Early Espresso, tied together with Burlap ribbon. These fit nicely in the pizza box found on page 44 of the Holiday Catalogue.

 

 

This would make a wonderful thank you gift, change up the sentiments for any occasion.

The boxes are food safe as well, so a cookie or Hmmmm chocolates !

Oh My Stars for Happy Inkin' Thursday Blog Hop

  

 

Welcome my friends...here we are to Thursday again..

 

We have a sketch today to help us along. Here it is.

 

 

Now I confess that I made another card today but that one isn't due until October 26th. So glad I realized my error before I went live. Not sure where my brain was but oh well, now I have that one already done !

 But onto today, here's my creation.

  

 

 

The whisper white piece I ran through the Oh My Stars embossing folder to give a little more festive feel. And how do you like the non traditional colours. Well maybe the Glimmer Red is Christmasy, is that a word?  The strips on the front came into being as there were some scraps that fell out of the folders I store my bits and pieces in. Weird right. 

 

Here's the full on shot, the sentiment comes from Teeny Tiny Wishes, fabulous set. And I put one inside as well. 

 

 

And now a peek inside. Tried to carry the theme to the inner parts. Just a little glitz  to finish.

Cable Knit Note for You Happy Inkin' Thursday Blog Hop

 

 

 

Hello to Thursday and October. 

 

Today is a colour challenge and I wanted to do something other than a Christmas theme, although these colours can be very festive.

Here they are......

  

 

And this is what happened in my studio with these colours. I have to say I not a fan of the Garden Green so is not the focal colour. 

 

 

 

I ran the Real Red mat piece through the Big Shot using the Cable Knit Folder. The art piece was stamped first with the Word Words flowers in Garden Green and then I stamped off some of the circles in Lemon Lime Twist.

I decided I wanted to show the flowers a bit more so I coloured some of the roses with the Marvelous Markers in Real Red and touched up the Garden Green.

Next a strip of ribbon in the Lemon Lime and then adhered the art piece onto a piece of Lemon Lime Twist which I "dimensioned" onto the Cable Knit Real Red piece. 

 

 

Because I had some fun with colouring, I went inside and stamped the flower image again in Garden Green. 

 

 

 Peek!!

 

 

 I have to share, that after seeing this picture I went back over the flowers inside....no more white spots showing. The Ott light I use for photos really helps.
