Floral Phrases Christmas Rose for Happy Stampers Blog Hop

 Hello my friends, I am back. Had a couple of posts off to allow me some time to be with family. Thanks for sticking by. 

 

Todays sketch really was wide open and I wanted to do a Christmas themed card but not the traditional style. Out came the Fancy Frost Speciality Paper from the Holiday Catalogue and a sponge with Soft Sky and the process began.

 

 Here is the sketch for this week.

 

 

Here is a peek...I used the Floral Phrases rose as a focal point.....I call it the Christmas Rose....

 

 

 

 

I pulled out the Mavelous Markers and used a little Cherry Cobbler and Real Red on the flower and Pear Pizzazz and Old Olive on the leaves. I matted the art piece with a piece of Cherry Cobbler and Soft Sky.  Then a fabulous JOY from the Wonderful Wreath Framelits Dies.

 

 

 Along the side I placed a piece of Soft Sky and stamped that with the Stars from the Tin of Tags Photopolymer stamp set. The Fancy DSP has stars in it as well and those I painted with the Wink of Stella Clear. Hard to see but it is quite pretty.

Thinking Suite

Hello my friends.

I have made a few cards using the "Thinking of You" sentiment. Now these could be used as get well, sympathy, or just that little thought for a good friend. Easy to make and using the wonderful DSP that Stampin' Up always delivers as background art pieces for all. I hope you like them. 

I really like how Crisp Cantalope and Smoky Slate go so well together.  Happy we have one more year with that In Color but looking forward to the new fun stuff as well. 

And number two in the Suite.......

And then there is Smoky Slate and Pistachio Pudding!!!! The Chalk Talk Stamp Set and Framelits add that little bit of flair. And a ribbon of Gumball Green and TaDa. 

Now put on your sunglasses...I got a little carried away here. Daffodil Yellow and Tangerine Tango....wowzer!

Ok now there a few other colors in this card..... Summer Starfruit in the ribbon and the Washi Tape is from the Retro Fresh , almost a Tangerine color.

Polka Dot Art

Howdy all ! 

I have one more card to share using the "stamp on DSP " technique. 

This is a very subtle paper but it sure is versatile. I had no fussy cutting this time as I used the Secret Garden Stamp Set and Framelits. And I can say this one took less that 10 minutes to put together ! Now who wouldn't like that. 

I used that wonderful Summer Starfruit color and of course the other In Colors Gumball Green and Primrose Petals. I matted with Smoky Slate to bring out the polka dots in the DSP. I did cut out the leaves and the other flower using the framelits but I kinda like it without them. Just pop up a couple of flowers for some dimension and tada!!! 

So folks that was fun, I really needed a bit of creativity after cleaning out closets etc. So remember, we still get to play and I would love to share some fun with you and your buddies. Take care.

More DSP as Art

Hello my friends. 

Have you been having fun with the DSP Watercolor Wonder. It is so much fun to see what the paper can bring out once it is stamped.

Well here is number two, and I used the same paper.

Ok ...so last post I said I went a little crazy......well folks this stamp set ( Peaceful Petals ) does not have a matching framelit. Yes....I mean fussy cutting was done. But I really think it turned out good. The muted stamp in the background blends well with the paper. Now you go see what you can create. Have fun and thanks for stopping in.

And as always, I would love to share ideas with you and your friends. If you would like to host a stamping party just let me know. Here or at your place...have stamps will travel, so they say.

DSP as Art

Hello my friends. I do hope you are having a wonderful weekend. I have been spending some time spring cleaning so thought I would have some fun today and play in my studio. 

Awhile ago my friend Sandi had one of her fabulous ideas.....stamping on Designer Series Paper. So today away I went. Thanks again for all you share!!! 

I used the beautiful Watercolor Wonder paper from the Occasions Mini and it really is a work of art. I stamped the images from the Backyard Basics stamp set...then went a little "crazy".

This paper is just like I painted it....so pretty. And as you will see closer in my next picture  I used the Backyard Basic Framelits Dies to layer over the original stamp.

Now seriously folks , this is not one of your 10 minute cards!!! But I sure had fun with it. I have a couple more to share so check back soon.

Sweet Sorbet

Happy weekend to all.

And the countdown to the end of Sale-a-Bration is on. So today my share is using up all those bits and pieces I know we all have of the fabulous Sweet Sorbet DSP. I will be sorry to see it go....very pretty and so versatile. So if you want to add some to your "paper jungle" , you only have till March 31st. You can shop here at my online store 24-7! 

 

Now I am going for that retro feel and all of these cards have the wonderful scalloped colored paper. 

One direction then another..... and then another......

 

So tell me , what do you think? With all the wonderful colors on the DSP you can pick from so many wonderful  coordinating hues for the card bases. 

I used the Really Good Greetings stamp set for all my sentiments. I really love it and even better I got it for free as one of my choices after I collected all the "Best of" stamp sets. That promotion is almost finished as well so don't delay....March 31st.  

I hope you now have some ideas to put to good use for all those pieces of DSP. I hesitate to call them scrap because I so love all the beautiful papers and the designs. I seem to hold onto even the tiniest bit, and who knows one day I put it to good use. Now have fun and thanks for stopping in.

Sketch Challenge

Good day to all!! Hope your weekend is turning out to be a good one . The weather is fabulous here....hard to believe it is January.

I have a card today that we did at StampClub here on Thursday night. The ladies loved the new DSP Sweet Sorbet I used from the Spring Occasions catalogue. I also used for my inpiration the Sketch Challenge #38  from my gal friend Sandi Stamping with Sandi She is amazing and I wish she lived closer. What fun we could have. So here it is....get out your sunglasses as definately not for the faint of heart!!!! 

 

As I did not have the Tag Topper Punch I used the Chalk Talk Framelits. We played alot with the new Washi Tape and what an easy way to add some pop to your projects. Thursday was "Washi " night so I have a few more to share with you in the next few posts. The next one I turned the card and added a few embellishments. Washi Tape again and tiny flowers from the Boho Blossoms Punch. This paper just screams!!!! punch me!!! 

 

 

Hope you like this "springy" addition to the mix. Have a wonderful day.

More World Spectacular

Hello my friends. I hope you have been having fun creating your own "Circus" performers!!! I so love the DSP paper World Spectacular # 126897. The colors and all the graphics open up so many worlds. Here are two more for you to ponder over.

I love this air balloon. I have had the experience when I lived in Vernon to go up in a couple of them and what a great ride. They have a winter carnival in February and so the ground was snowy and the skys were bright. My BFF Sandi was a big reason for that fabulous experience....remember when!!????

 And away we go.......the new Chevron Embossing Folder makes the Island Indigo color really pop don't you think. This is another quick and easy card. Just add a few buttons, punch out a sentiment and layer and you have a really nice card for that "Greatest" friend.

Letters to Santa

Happy weekend to all!!

As promised the Christmas ideas are on the go. I know we are all gearing up to create new cards to send to friends and family. If you are anything like me, I always try to "outdo!!??" myself each year and that in itself can be very stressful. So I have tried to use the "KISS" technique for these next ones.

 

 The DSP "Letters to Santa" ...page 186...is fabulous as you can use it to add so much interest to your cards. A few of the pages would be perfect for those scrapbook pages of the season. These are in keeping with the NAPR program most of us are on...No Additional Posatge Required.....Thanks again Sandi for this great idea.  And what would Christmas be without tags to add that special touch to our gift giving!!!

 

So I put these together quite quickly......and had to stop myself from going overboard. Sometimes simple is best...especially when you have some beautiful paper to showcase.

 

Now if you are planning to create your cards this year but haven't started yet, I would love to get together with you and a few friends. We could have a wonderful time putting some ink on paper and you could go away with a new hobby to create cards that are a gift in themselves.
