Lovely as a Tree for Happy Inkin Thursday Blog Hop

 

Hello folks....almost December! I hope you have a good start on all the goodies for the Christmas season. Amazing how fast the last year went for me, I guess sometimes that's a good thing. I am really looking forward to 2019. 

 

Away we go for the hop today. We have colours to create with and I guess this card could be a Christmas one but I made the inside sentiment to mean alot of things...birthday, retirement, graduation, you'll see.

 I know I am not the only one out there that loves the stamp set, Lovely as a Tree. So versatile and will always be one I go to many times a year. Here's what I made for you today.

 

 

 

 

This tree is so beautiful , so I showcased it on it's own. The sentiment here is from the stamp set Seize the Day, becoming another of my  favourites.

I stamped off some of the oak leaves on the Crumb Cake card base...( I hope this an oak leaf ) , then I started to build my card. Real Red and Shaded Spruce go so well together don't you think.  

 

The sentiment stamped so well on a piece of Very Vanilla. The Real Red did good. 

 

 

Here is the inside...and you can now understand the scope of this sentiment. It is from the  Dragonfly Dreams stamp set. I also stamped off the leaf  on the inside panel, with Shaded Spruce and Crumb Cake ink.

A few little leaves around the saying , to give some dimension and I was happy.

Seize the Day for Happy Inkin Thursday Blog Hop

 

Happy Thursday!! 

Amazing how fast November snuck up on us all. Into the second week already and I'm loving the fall colours and the crisp air. 

We have a sketch to play with today and I pulled out a set that wasn't even inked!! I know, but I think I love it. So off we go....

  

 Here is the first installment...

 

 

The card base is Very Vanilla - 8-1/2 x 5-1/2 scored at 4-1/4.

The next mat is a piece of Merry Merlot  - 4 x 5-1/8, then I adhered a piece of Wood Textures DSP to the Mossy Meadow. The DSP is almost the same length as the Mossy Meadow, which is 5-1/4 x 3-3/4. 

Before sticking it down I stamped the leaves, dots and "feather" shapes onto the DSP.

 

 

I tied some of the Natures Twine in the Blackberry around the DSP and used some Tear and Tape adhesive to attach to the Mossy Meadow piece. Then put everything together. A bit of Mossy Meadow became the flag to keep with the sketch.

 

Here is a close up of the ribbon I used for the bow. Can I just say after seeing Kristi's bow on the October 18th hop I needed this fabulous reversible ribbon. Merry Merlot on one side and copper on the other...gorgeous. I'll post the links for any Canadian shoppers at the end of the hop.

Cozy Cottage for Happy Inkin' Thursday Blog Hop

 

 

 Happy Thursday my friends. 

 

Today we have a sketch to start the process. I love all the banners we have and that we can make them any size to fit our ideas.  Here is the sketch....

 

 

 

I took out the fabulous Hostess set Cozy Cottage and started to play. I wanted a warm and welcoming card and I hope you like it.

 

 

 

 

 The card base is Early Espresso and then I layered the art piece onto Old Olive. The banner cried out Cajun Craze, so I added some of that to the cottage. Here is the full on picture.

 

 

 

 

I think this could really be a masculine card and we always seem to be looking for one of those. But imagine the colours a little softer and we have something for anyone. Give it a try. 

And inside , I kept it simple.

In This World for Happy Inkin' Thursday Blog Hop

 

 Hello my friends. Thanks for stopping by. Today we have a colour hop.

These are not ones I would think to bring together but away we go. Let's see what transpired.

  

 

 

This was a fun design ...I like the collage effect with these  shades. What do you think???

 

 

I started with Pool Party for some reason then went back to the sheet for clarification. I think the Mint Macaron works much better.

 

 

The stamp set In This World has some fun images and they can be used in a collage quite easily.

My card base is Tip Top Taupe, then layered with Mint Macaron and Old Olive. I stamped images on a piece of DSP from the Serene Scenery paper stack. I cut a piece of the Burlap Ribbon and sliced in into two. Then I tied it together with a piece of the Mint Macaron Ribbon.

 

The sentiment is on a piece of Old Olive that I rubbed on the Tip Top Taupe ink pad. I wanted a "messy" result. 

 

 

 I then added the rest of the sentiment inside...messy again. Here is a little peek.

 

 

A little more of the images here and there, leaving an area for your message. I think "messy" can be alot of fun. I know that Amy would have a tough time with that concept . She loves her straight lines...lol.

Traveler for Happy Stampers Blog Hop

 

Happy Thursday to all....

Today we have a colour challenge to help in the design plan. This card is another in the masculine set we did for our Stamp Club last week.  We had so much fun and I can't believe it is done for the year.

Here are the colours our Yoda's have chosen for us.....(yes I know Amy...you too had a hand in some of this!!! ) .

 

  

 

So here is what I came away with.....

 

 

 I have layered the black and glossy gold onto a Whisper White Card base. The art piece I gold heat embossed and then used a sponge to "antique" it up.

I love the  In Color Hello Honey , it can become a wonderful warm gold . I used a little of it on the sentiment piece as well as on the Whisper White edges. 

 

 

The gold twine gives us a little bit of the sea I hope. And the gold buttons are reminiscent of a sailors P Jacket. Now go ahead and Goggle that one.

 

 

 Here we can see the sponging on the edges and I "swirled it" around the card.

I think the girls had fun with this card. It was what my grandson Dylan called " Gender non specific!!"

Accomplished!!

As promised I have a card that I made for my Grandson Dylan. He has made his jouneyman designation for heating and air conditoning and I am very proud of him. You would never know , right.

If I ever gave him a card that I bought he would think something was amiss!!! He loves what I do and has helped put things together in my studio for me. We sometimes don't realize that our creations are that special so here is your reminder. 

So....woodgrain and burlap. How much more male could we go. A little pop of color on a layer and the sentiment stands right out.  I sure hope Dylan likes his card....lots of memories while creating it. Another benefit of what we do.
