Stampin' Up ! Nature's Poem for Happy Inkin' Thursday Blog Hop

Happy Thursday to all.

I hope you enjoyed last weeks hop, I love the colours and the ladies did a fabulous job. Today we are back to a sketch. Here it is....

I pulled out a piece of the Nature's Poem DSP and that started the colours.  I started by cutting out some shapes, flowers and leaves to build with. The flourish thinlits dies were my go to for this. I always "dry fit" my design and I think it went together well. What do you think?

I matted the DSP onto a piece of Fresh Fig to begin , then used some Blackberry Bliss and Call Me Clover scraps to cut the thinlits.

The circle is punched in Powder Pink and the sentiment was stamped with Blackberry Bliss. This is Part of My Story, a set from Sale-A-Bration. Free goodies til the end of March folks. 

 

Here's a close up that shows the rose metallic thread I placed behind the circle. I added a few embellishments from the Faceted Dots.

Inside I stamped another sentiment from the Part of My Story set. I offset it just for fun.

Stampin' Up! Rectangles for Happy Inkin' Thursday Blog Hop

Welcome to Thursday.....and can you say Rectangle!! I am loving the new framelits and put them to good use today. Away we go....playing with colours and I love these.

The card base is Whisper White as per the challenge then the next mat is Balmy Blue, followed by a piece of DSP,Tranquil Textures. Then more Balmy Blue, a piece of Night of Navy then the white for the  sentiment piece. All were put through their paces in a Stitched Rectangle !!! There are thirteen different sizes, just imagine the possibilities!!

The wonderful little "sprigs" are from the Balloon Celebration Stamp Set. They add just the right touch.

This close up shot really show the stitching on the framelits and the sponging around the mats.

 I added a few rhinestones to brighten up the white and inside I stamped a sentiment from Part of My Story....love this one.

Enjoy Life for Happy Inkin Thursday Blog Hop

Happy Thursday to all!! 

 

I can't say I am unhappy to see February in the rear view mirror. We had so much snow that I thought I was back in the Okanagan.

I hope now I can think of spring and get ready for all that offers.

So off we go to the sketch for today..

 

Feb 28

 

I had some birthday cards to put together and both for men. Pulled out a few stamp sets and then settled on a pretty monochromatic colour scheme.One uses Seize the Day and the other Enjoy Life. Both guys are very active so these sets hit the spot. Hope you like my share for you today....

I am so in Love with the new Crackle Paint Cling Stamp in the Occasions catalogue. Each time I use it , the background adds the right touch. I matted the Very Vanilla with Early Espresso, then stamped the Crackle onto another piece of Very Vanilla. The image was stamped onto a 2-1/2 " circle then the scallop behind was punched out with the Starburst punch. The last circle is also 2-1/2" and all were layered behind the image one.

Then a strip of burlap ribbon, a banner of very vanilla, then a strip of very vanilla. The sentiment is from the Thoughtful Banners set. I did sponge the edges to calm down the show!!

Here's what I did inside of this card.

This sentiment is from the Enjoy Life stamp set. Still room to write a special happy birthday inside.

 

Now here is the other card I made...just a little different but happy with this result also. 

Here I stamped the Crackle Paint background directly on the Very Vanilla card.

Same basic design but switched out the image and the sentiments. Image is from Seize the Day set and the sentiments are from Thoughtful Banners. 

 

I did not do any stamping inside , left it blank for the Happy Birthday message.

Fancy Folds for Happy Inkin' Thursday Blog Hop

Happy Thursday my friends, I hope you all are managing this weird and wacky weather that seems to be everywhere. I had three snow days last week so I am hoping this is behind us. We are very wimpy here on Vancouver Island. 

So away we go for todays share....colour it is.....

I put the colours together and added a fun fold for the sentiment "window" . Lots of videos out there but my shout out goes to Dawn Griffiths, great directions. 

Whisper white card base, then Lovely Lipstick, followed by the Night of Navy.

I ran the Night of Navy through the Lace Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder... now that's a name. But what a beautiful result.

The fun origami box was made with the Tranquil Textures DSP. I used dimensionals to adhere to the embossed Night of Navy mat. And a few red rhinestones to jazz things up.

 

The "Missing You" sentiment came from the Sale-A-Bration free set Home to Roost.And this is the bit of Call Me Clover that we needed to use.

Sunshine Wishes for Happy Inkin Thursday Blog Hop

Hello my friends and Happy Valentines ! 

 I am calling my card today , "Fast and Easy, I forgot to make Valentines cards!!??? " Here is the sketch and I took a little liberty with the label and changed it to a heart.

Out came the Sunshine Wishes framelits and the Heart became a "label".

The "Love You" is from the wonderful Well Written Framelits Dies and the bundle is on page 27 if the Occasions catalogue. This is a set you would use forever and for everything. 

I added a few hearts in Melon Mambo, the tiny ones are from the Happy Tails photopolymer set, also from the Occasions catalogue, and the bigger ones are from Wood Words.

This came together really fast and easy, just what I needed and I know we all have those days. 

I added some photo background interest with a piece of Petal Promenade DSP, stunning paper if you don't have it.

I used the "inside" heart that came out of the "swirly" heart to break up the white inside. Still plenty of room for that special message for your Valentine!

I used the new Stitched Rectangles to make the frame and then the Lift Me Up stamp set to set the mood. Such a fun set....and a big Thanks to my friend Sandi for sending me this set with the framelits. I hope you like what I created with these pressies!!!

 

This next picture shows the dimension of the balloons and the clouds.

I sponged the clouds with Coastal Cabana, then used a marker to add the lines. There is a stamp that has that but I went old school here. Then a few pearls and the sentiment cut out with another rectangle....there are soooooo many. The best thing ever.

By the Bay for Happy Inkin Thursday Blog Hop

Holy smokes...the end of January. This month sure went by fast and that's ok, means spring is a little bit closer. 

We have a sketch today, so off we go.

 I decide to do some watercolouring when I received the set "By The Bay" during this fun Sale-A-Bration promotion. I hope you try this out as well.....

I cut a piece of watercolour paper 3x3 and away I went with the inks. I stamped the image with Momento ink, you need the use that or a Stazon or the colour will run.

To add some detail on the scene I used the Stampin' Write Journaler marker to make some edges. Remember this is a watercolour so easy does it.

I added more of the greenery inside and another sentiment. This one is from Home To Roost, another free set during the Sale-A-Braton promotion. Love this time of year.

Crackle Paint for Happy Inkin Thursday Blog Hop

Happy Thursday ! 

I have a card today that I had fun with. It's been awhile so this is a positive step. I know we all go through dry spells , so I hope that is past.

We have colours today and for some strange reason I don't have Petal Pink, who knew!! So I substituted Powder Pink.

This stamp set is one of my favs......Beautiful You is so fun and I dressed up one of the beauties with some DSP.

Crackle background and then matted the rest. Can you say LOVE the Crackle Paint stamp

I stamped a second image onto a piece of DSP and cut out the "skirt and hat" to adhere to the stamped one. Here is a close up......

Her belt is pretty embellishments, Faceted Dots, just to show the waist.

I then stamped the sentiments, matted them and added a circle of DSP for more fun.

So now ladies remember to use that DSP and even the smallest piece can make and impact.

Well Written for Happy Inkin Thursday Blog Joint Hop

Happy Thursday to all.....we have a combined hop today and welcome to Elaine Greenwood. I look forward to your ideas and as always love what all these impressive ladies deliver.

So off we go. Now with the joint hop we can choose either the sketch or the colours or both... After I made this card FOUR TIMES!!! I should have gone with one or the other but No!!! So the templates are .....

I chose a Whisper White card base and went from there. Timeless Textures Stamp set helped me along the way. I stamped the flourish in Mango Melody and added a few dots in Old Olive.

Then came the first piece, Flirty Flamingo and a small banner in White. 

I am loving the new Framelits , Well Written and stamp set , Well Said, from the new Occassion Catalogue. It's amazing.

The Butterfly and the flowers are from the Sale-A-Bration catalogue, Butterfly Elements. I used them instead of flowers as in the sketch. The Happy Birthday is just one of the great new framelits.

Thoughtful Banners for Happy Inkin Thursday Blog Hop

We are into January with number two post. I really !!!! struggled with this colour challenge, that Lovely Lipstick sure threw me off. 

But persevere I did....

Here's the colours..... 

 

Jan 10

 

 I decided to switch things up a bit as I was having difficulty with the challenge. So I cut a card 5-1/2 x 11 to make a square. Just score this puppy at 5-1/2 . Then I matted a piece of Flirty Flamingo 5x5 and cut a piece of the Soft Seafoam 4-3/4 x 3-3/4. 

The Seafoam was put through the BigShot using the embossing technique with the Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits Dies. 

There is a special mat you use to achieve this result. On page 221 of the catalogue you can see them. There is  a great video to watch on You Tube. 

So here is my card for today...

This next shot really shows the embossed Dragonflies, and I used the opposite side ( innie not outie ) for my card.

Now you can see how I snuck in a bit of the Lovely Lipstick, I know big deal, I can hardly wait to see how these talented ladies used all these colours.

I did place more inside with another sentiment, here's a peek.

The dragonflies are popped up with mini dimensional, and they have "googly" eyes , I used some pearls from the Share What You Love embellishments.

Inside I stamped the dragonfly in Flirty Flamingo then again to cut out with the thinlits. This I layered on top of the stamped image.
