Sassy Salutations for Stamping and Blogging Sketch #116

 

It's Wednesday...are you ready? Here we go....

Today's share is a card using two of the wonderful new In Colors. I love the Watermelon Wonder as it adds that pop of summer to everything.

 I have a recipe for this KISS card  (keep it simple SILLY ) at the end of the pictures. I love these sketch challenges as they help with the creative process.  Please put them to use, we love to see your take on this as well. 

A closer view to see the Stylish Stripes embossing on the Watermelon.  I think it pulls the all the stripes of the DSP together.

And peeking out from behind the striped designer series paper is a small bit of Go Wild in the shade of Tip Top Taupe.

I used some Mossy Meadow for contrast and stamped some "splotches" from the Awesomely Artistic Stamp Set in that colour on the sentiment piece.

Watercolor Wings for Sketch #115

 

Happy Wednesday!!

Boy did I have fun at convention and are you all going to be excited once the Holiday Catalogue goes live September 1st. Stayed tuned for that and for all my customers look in the mail for that goodie!! Should you need a demonstrator let me know and I can add you to my mailing list. 

But in the meantime I have a card today that I made while my good pal Sandi was here visiting!! All critiqued and MAJOR help in the photo blogging department. I am very interested to hear what you think of the differences.

 So because I used the awesome Lace Trim to add some softness, I wanted to give you a good view. See in behind the pop of Cherry Cobbler....Sandi's idea! And the Designer Series Paper Timeless Elegance is so gorgeous, you have to have it.

Now isn't that fabulous!! We saw some great techniques at convention using this paper. Give me a call and we can set up a party to play. And of course the inside , for your viewing pleasure. I am so happy to have met Amy in person. What a fabulous lady!! We had so much fun and she is amazing!

Butterflies!!! for Stamping and Blogging Sketch #114

 

Happy Wednesday to all!!!

I very excited as my vacation starts tomorrow and I am heading to Salt Lake for the convention!!!

Meeting with old friends....Yah Sandi!!!!  and I know I will make loads of new ones. But for now here we go to the  card I have for you today. I just love how it turned out ... I hope you do as well.

I had a little love affair with butterflies for this card. The Pink Pirouette and the Blackberry Bliss were both put through the fabulous "Fluttering" Embossing Folder. I must say this folder is GORGEOUS. 

 Then I used both the Bold Butterfly Framelits and the Butterfiles Thinlits dies to build my beauties. One was made with the Fancy Foil Designer Vellum, the next one with the gorgeous Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper,  the last one with the pink. I layered them and adhered with glue dots.

The banner was also made with the Dazzling Diamonds Paper. And the little dots I punched out with the tiny circle from the Itty Bitty Accent Punch Pack. I love these punches....a must have if you don't already.  Some from the dazzling Diamonds and some from the circles on the Vellum.

And the inside ( Amy we get to meet very soon!!!) just wanted it's own butterflies so out came the punches and tada !!! So pretty and so easy. Here are the links for you ...we all love easy peasy shopping, right...

Go Wild for Stamping and Blogging Sketch #113

 

Hello everyone.....today I went simple!!! I tried to "jazz" this card up but went back to basics and I think it works.

Whenever you need a card in a hurry keep it simple!!!! I hope you like it.

Wowzers, right. The card base is basic black and then I added a strip of the Go Wild from the paper stack. I matted it with Watermelon Wonder and cut out the label from the Chalk Talk Framelits. I ran the black through the Honeycomb Embossing folder to somewhat mimic the design on the DSP.

 I used one of the fabulous sentiments from the Expressions Natural Elements . These are so beautifully made. And the natural look was just what it needed. It is adhered with the multipurpose glue.

 Here we are close up, notice the sponging on the label as well. And because Amy is so amazing I had to put something inside for fun.

Good Things for Stamping and Blogging Sketch #112

 Happy day to all!! I hope you are all keeping cool and safe with this weird and crazy weather we are having.  As it is soooooo hot out there I have spent some time inside stamping with the air conditioner going full blast. Here is the card for todays sketch.

 The Fancy Foil Designer Vellum gave me the inspiration with the stripes and then the hearts added a little fun. I ran the Mossy Meadow through Mr. Big with the Chevron Embossing folder to add some more interest. 

Here is what happened inside.... left overs are great fun.

Just a small piece of the stripes on the corner and punched out the little hearts with the tiny heart from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch trio. I placed all of these with glue dots.

Flower Shop for Sketch #111

 

 Happy Wednesday and Happy Canada Day to all my Canadian friends!!!

It is cooking hot here.....my studio is about 35 celsius....that's over my limit so fast post today. Hope you like my funky colours....

 So Melon Mambo for the card and then went crazy with Mint Macaron and Bermuda Bay. I put the Pansy punch to good use here.....

 The side is stamped off with Petite Petals and the leaves are from the bird builder punch. A quick sentiment from Remember This and ta da.

And believe it or not the inspiration for these colors came from a gift bag, so pretty.

Corner Garden for Sketch #110

 Happy Wednesday everyone......Today I have a card for you that I had lots of fun creating. I love to colour and this stamp just shouts for it!!!!

I embossed the beautiful image with white and then went back to my childhood to colour. I used the inside of the stamp pads of Pink Pirouette and Mint Macaron with the re-inkers and the aqua painters....( the spell check always wants to say"reindeers"???!!!)

 As I was layering the image I saw a nice piece left over and thought it would look good on the inside of the card. So I cut it out and placed it there with the rest of the " Just For" sentiment. Here's a peek....

This pink is so pretty and the new In Color Mint Macaron goes with it really well. I also used a little Pear Pizzazz for the leaves.

I cut a piece of the ribbon for the very bottom....it's hiding a boo boo!!! You can't see it, but I know where it is. Best Thoughts for Stamping and Blogging Sketch #109

 Hello to all.....what a month it has been. Busy inside and out. Hope all is well with you.

Today I had some fun embossing and colouring. I pulled out the Hostess set "Best Thoughts" and started to play. Here is the result, I hope you like my take on todays sketch.

I was going for a dramatic feel, so I used Basic Black for the first mat and the first flower. Then Elegant Eggplant for the second flower. These two I embossed in white and the third was on Whisper White embossed with black. This is all layered on a Perfect Plum card stock to soften the edges.  

Here is a closer view.....shows the dimensioned flowers a little better.

 The last flower was colored with my aqua painter and some re- inkers on the inside of the ink pads. It's edges  turned up a bit due to the water and I loved the result. It looks more like a real flower.

Something for Baby for S & B Sketch #108

 Hello my friends...hope all is well in your part  of the world. It has been very hot here, unseasonably so. Not sure  what that means for the rest of the summer but for now, can you say "thankful for air conditioning!!"

 

Todays card is one I made from a colleague who just had her first baby. Sweet little Samantha is one lucky girl to have Tara and Cameron for parents. Great people and so over the moon.

This is the final "draft" of this card. The first one I had matted with the Mint Macaron and then went off the grid.!!!??? So I thought the white on white was much more fun and then the colours could shine through. 

Dots in the lace ribbon ....hmmm how about I put the small pieces of Cucumber Crush and Mint Macaron through the Decorative Dots embossing folder. Added the right touch I think.

The sentiment form Petite Pairs was perfect, I am soooo glad it carried over to the new catalogue. And the sentiment inside is from another favourite , Sassy Salutations.

You've Got This for Stamping and Blogging Sketch #107

 Happy June to all. And I know you are loving the new catalogue as I am. 

Today's card is putting some new In Colors to use and of course my most favourite new stamp set, "You've Got This". As demonstrators we get a chance to purchase as well as peek before the "launch" so when my order arrived it was just like my birthday all over again. So here we go, I hope you like fun with Tip Top Taupe and Watermelon Wonder!

 I am soooo loving this combination of colours. And the little pop of Mint Macaron with new ribbon , the lacy feel is fun. I heat embossed the background and the flower with white but the Taupe made it look Very Vanilla. 

Fussy cut the flower and a few embellishments and the card came together quite well.

 The flower and the sentiment are both popped up with dimensionals for some extra depth.I played inside the card as well, sort of a spotlight effect.
