Happy New Years and Happy Thursday !! 2019 wow....

 

I hope everyone had a fabulous holiday season, and are ready for that new year excitement. 

Here is the first one of 2019 my friends......

 

 

 

It may have been easier to make a New Years card but I guess this one could qualify. Here we go....

 

 

 

I went far away form the holiday hues for this baby. Thinking tropical and warm, even though the ferns are not in the greens. The pop of the Calypso Coral stands out well with the Crumb Cake and the Early Espresso.

I wove the Burlap ribbon behind the Oval and then placed the ferns with Mulitipurpose Glue.

The sentiment is attached with dimensionals, lending to more depth. 

 

 

A few random dots of Calypso Coral on the Crumb Cake mat help to pull everything together. 

 

 

And onto the inside, more background with the Timeless Textures stamp set , a couple of ferns to offset the sentiment and we are finished

Tropical Chic # 2 for Happy Inkin Thursday Blog Hop

 

Hello my friends......it's almost the middle of July, hope you are having a great summer. 

 

We have COLOR for today and I love these ones together. 

 

 

The set that I used today, is just the right thing for those hot and fun summer days, Tropical Chic. It always takes me to the islands and I am very lucky to have family in Hawaii. I know!!! So the ferns and the hibicus mean alot to me.

So here we go....

 

 

 The bundle includes fabulous Thinlits Dies that you can really be creative wth. I chose to use the black for the "screen" of fronds and ferns and it really shows up well on the Lemon Lime Twist.

I layered that onto the piece of Lovely Lipstick. Now before I adhered that to the card of Whisper White I randomly stamped the greenery and a few of the flowers.  So what do you think?

 

 

The sentiment is stamped in the Lipstick , cut out , sponged, then I used the small dimensionals to attach.  I also put a few of the pearls from the Share What You Love embellisments on the bottom corner.

Inside I stamped a couple of ferns then used the thinlits to cut out some of the greens and a flower. 

 

 

I will share the links for these products for you and a recipe list of dimensions.

I know you could put this together , I'm thinking about maybe the new Call Me Clover In Color and the Pineapple Punch In Color for the flowers...hmmm.

 

 Recipe:

 

Whisper White- 8-1/2 x 5-1/2 score at 4-1/4, scrap pieces to stamp flowers , greens and sentiment.

Lovely Lipstick- 3-1/2 x 4-1/2

Basic Black- 4-1/4 x 3-3/8, 3x3

Lemon Lime Twist- 3-1/4 x 4-3/8

One Sheet Wonder for Happy Inkin' Thursday Blog Hop

 

 

Good morning my friends. Today we have a colour hop and I decided to play with the One Sheet Wonder technique as  well.

I saw a fabulous video on Facebook the other day and thought I could try to make a few cards . So a shout out to ... Sue's Paper Creations. She used the Avant-Garden stamp set but I pulled out the Awesomely Artistic and the Detailed Dragonfly Thinlets. Thanks for the inspiration. 

Let's see how we did. Our colours for today are....

 

So away we go. 

 

 

I stamped all the way around the edge of a piece of 8-1/2 x 11 Whisper White, first with Blushing Bride and then Soft Sky. I then filled in some spots with the Sahara Sand using the Dots from the stamp set. Once I was happy I cut this piece in half and then in half again. Each piece was trimmed along the length and the width just about 3/8", making the art piece 5-1/4 x 3-7/8.

 Hang onto those strips as you can put them to use later. 

 

 

I made two cards with Blushing Bride as the card base and two with the Soft Sky. Then I cut out some beautiful dragonflies with the Blushing Bride Glimmer paper.  I choose a few sentiments to stamp on each card. I will share those sets at the end of my post. 

 

Here is a picture of all four cards...I think they turned out pretty good. I hope you like them. 

 

 Just few sequins or enamel embellishments and these were done. I now have another idea using a piece of DSP , we'll see how that turns out. 

Now with the strips that I cut off, I attached them inside the card. Sue did that and put one on the envelope. Let's take a look.

Today we have colours to play with. I love what the Gold adds to almost anything...so striking.

 

 


And away we go.......New products to play with from the Occasions Catalogue. Love it all.

Page 52 of the new book showcases this fabulous new Thinlit!! So pretty.

I started with a Whisper White card base of 8-1/2 x 5-1/2 and then layered a beautiful piece of the Gold Foil 5-1/4 x 4-1/8. Into the Big Shot went the Real Red ...4 x 5-1/4. 







Here it is and as I love the new Card Tin that I received out of the Sale-A-Bration for free, I thought I would show it off. Remember during January 4th to March 31st for every $60.00 you spend you can pick a free goodie from the Sale-A-Bration catalogue.

Love this time of year. 

Don't the Red and Gold look dramatic together. The wonderful lacy Thinlit is so pretty and the top piece finishes the card so well. 

 

 

The sentiment is layered on a Gold piece  and then dimensioned onto the card.( Is Dimensioned a verb??)  The wonderful little wooden hearts are so cute. You can find them on page 15.  I have put all the links for these products at the end of the post. 

Now are you peeking inside the card. I couldn't resist using more of this fabulous flower die. 

 

 

 

  Then I added the "SWAK" sentiment to finish things properly.  The small flourish at the edges is from the Sealed with Love Stamp Set. I used it also on the sentiment on the card front. I think it really adds that touch of "fancy" .
